New MTM cutting service for bar and rod

High-precision, high volume shearing now available

Shearing is usually considered a somewhat crude method of cutting sheet and plate materials to size. At MTM, however , we can now precision--shear bar and rod using our newly installed state-of -the-art shearing capacity. The result is a very good quality and accurate cut, with a minimum of deformation.

Material

MTM can handle rounds, squares and hexagons from 4 mm to 16 mm in section and in lengths up to 6 metres.

Cut Lengths

From 150 mm to 1500 mm, with an accuracy better than 0.5 mm.

Shorter lengths can be cut be MTM to special order.

Output Capacity

Varies according to the feed bar lengths and cut lengths required. As an example 12 mm diameter bars in 6 m lengths cut to 600 mm can be output by MTM at 3 to 5 tonnes per day depending on required tolerances, material properties and so on. Our equipment is ideal for bright drawn steel although black bar and rod can also be cut provided that it is reasonably straight.
